Review Diamond Lounge Gates B at Brussels Airport

At the beginning of November, I visited Antwerp for a few days. When I bought the tickets, I did not realize that Antwerp also has an airport. It gave me the opportunity to visit the Diamond Lounge at Gates B at Brussels Airport (BRU).

Brussels Airport has only one terminal, divided into zones A (Schengen) and B (non-Schengen). There is one Diamond Lounge in each section. In addition, The Loft by Lexus and Sunrise are lounges for passengers of Star Alliance airlines in Section A.

When searching for lounges on the British Airways website, I found that part B (non-Schengen) should have two lounges – Diamond Lounge Pier B and The Suite. First, I headed to The Suite. According to the site, it was supposed to be near the Gate B01. However, I was not able to find it. As I later learned from the staff at the Diamond Lounge, The Suite no longer exists.

Where is the Diamond Lounge Gates B located?

Diamond Lounge Pier B is located near Gate B01 and Gate B04. The signage throughout the departure area is excellent, and the Diamond Lounge is relatively easy to find.

The lounge was on the top floor. I could use the elevator opposite Gate B01 or take the stairs near Gate B04 (behind Starbucks). I decided to exercise and walk the stairs.

I found myself in a long corridor with doors on the right and left. Both entrances were marked as the Diamond Lounge. I asked the staff about the difference between the lounges. Apparently, both are Diamond Lounges and offer the same services.

Who can enter the Diamond Lounge Gates B?

Access to the Diamond Lounge Gate B is granted to non-Schengen passengers travelling first- or business class. In addition, passengers flying with airlines belonging to Star Alliance, oneworld Alliance and SkyTeam are also allowed to enter.

DragonPass owners have free access to the lounge for 4 hours.

In addition, purchasing a one-time ticket for 37.5 euros directly on the spot or online on the airport’s website is possible.

The lounge is open from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. More info on the official website here.

Inside the Diamond Lounge Gates B

The staff scanned my flight ticket upon entry. If you plan to use DragonPass, employees scan the QR code from the app. While waiting, I inquired about the location of The Suite lounge. The lounge employee replied that only Diamond Lounge exists in the entire B section.

After entering the lounge, I noticed the first part was for food and drinks. In the next section, there were different types of tables and chairs. When I saw the small wooden tables, I felt like I was in a school cafeteria.

I found several comfortable chairs in the back of the lounge. The entire lounge had a view of the runway. Passengers could thus watch arriving and departing planes.

I settled in a small, isolated part prepared for people who need to work and don’t want to be disturbed. There were electrical sockets on the wall where I could charge my phone.

Food and beverages

I found the location of food and beverages a bit unfortunate. It was right at the lounge entrance, and it caused people to bump into each other. Those who just entered had their bags, and it was easy to manoeuvre in such a small space.

Beer lovers could pour their own beer or take a bottle from the fridge.

Among the alcoholic drinks were two white, one rose and two red wines, rum, vodka, gin and whiskey.

Two coffee machines were prepared for those who needed to recharge their energy before the flight.

Snacks

I found a printed menu that included breakfast, lunch and dinner, and an all-day menu. I visited the lounge for lunch, so I only saw salads, some hot dishes and pastries.

Of course, I must remember to mention Haribo desserts and candies.

What else does the lounge offer?

There are several monitors in the lounge with flight information. Flights are not announced. Each passenger is responsible for monitoring the status of their flight.

To my surprise, only one female toilet was available for the entire Diamond Lounge Gate B. It is insufficient for the amount of people that can fit in the lounge.

I did not try the showers.

Free WiFi is available throughout the lounge.

To visit or not

I had mixed feelings about the Diamond Lounge Gate B at Brussels Airport. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay the entrance fee. I don’t think it’s worth paying almost 40 euros to visit the Diamond Lounge Gate B. I found it unacceptable that the whole lounge had only one toilet.

The snacks were average. Others may appreciate the selection of beers, but I don’t drink or like beer.
